Let the Year Begin!

Welcome to the 2012-2013 School Year!  I am excited about this year and have lots of fun and interesting activities planned!  I have 16 students this year, 10 girls and 6 boys! School begins on August 7, with an Open House On August 6 from 4:00 to 6:00.

Look Whoooooo's Been Spotted in Mrs. Tracy's 3rd Grade!

My room sign ready beside the door so the kids can find our room!

Star Student Corner!

Our "Poet Tree"...ready for 3rd grade works of art!

This is the behavior system that I use.  It works really well.  Everyone starts on "Ready to Learn" each morning.  Students can move up or down according to their day.  I use wooden clothes pins with each student's name on it.  Each time the student moves up, he or she receives a dot on the pin.  After receiving 10 dots, the student receives a special reward!

This is what I use for our class reward system.  The class earns "Brownie Points" for good behavior in special classes, lunch, hallway.....after earning all 20 brownies, the entire class earns a reward!

These are the organize binders that we are using this year.  The D.O.T. Binder stands for Daily Organizational Tool.  I believe that learning to be organized is one of the most important things that students can learn!

Dismissal Reminders...got to use my owls....yeah!

Supply List 2012-2013

Supply List
Although I mailed out the supply list for the 2012-2013 school year, I have posted it here just incase.  The tax-free weekend is August 3-5!

*2 folders with pockets at the bottom..without prongs
*Composition notebook for journal (the one with no spiral where the pages are actually glued together. They are usually black and white, but they have decorative ones too, if they would like to choose those....it doesn't matter.
*blunt scissors (Fiskars are the best and last without breaking)
*one package of mechanical pencils and one package of regular pencils
*crayons (2 boxes of 24..no larger)
*several glue sticks (no white liquid glue )
*small pencil box (not the big ones please...there will be no room in their desks)
*1 box of baby wipes
*1 box of Kleenex
*1 box of ziploc bags ( girls bring 1 sandwich size and boys
bring 1 gallon size)
*2 packages of white index cards (for flashcards)- the smaller sized ones
*Post-It Notes ( 3 x 3) (for instruction)

*** WES has provided the students' binders and contents for the first part of the year. The binder usually doesn't last all year. When it does fall apart, we do not provide the second one. You will have to replace it, so you may want to go ahead and get a 2 inch binder with the window in the front. Thanks!!

Mrs. Tracy's Wish List - optional items if you wish to donate:
*white or colored cardstock
*colored copy paper
*plastic sheet protectors
*sharpies (black or color)

Thanks so very much....Mrs. Tracy
